HISTORY
Once long ago, a noble family from a branch off the Seelie Court married their daughter Elnisreth to a kind young man from the Unseelie Court named, Kalel. Their bond was celebrated by both Courts in hopes of bringing their people closer together. However, the Unseelie Court's Elders had other plans.
The new couple started their lineage in Nemaria, where Elnisreth's family had been the care takers of this vast beautiful land for decades. The now Queen was more than beside herself with happiness as her husband seemed to enjoy in lavishing his new wife with gifts. This was a ploy to keep the naive Queen busy while Kalel and his personal guards formed a plan to let Nemaria rot. The King had already formed an alliance with the Demons of West Cliff Pass. The Pass was the border to the land of Demons which no Fey ever traveled too. How Kalel became chums with these foul beasts, only the Unseelie Court knows.
After three years the King's plan was set in motion. The Elven guards out at the border were killed by the Demons that flooded the land. The take over was quick and blinding since no one saw it coming. Soon, the Demons were inside the walls of Nemaria's castle. What guards survived the ferocious attack took to guarding the door into the castle as a last step to protect their King and Queen. However, King Kalel walked out to greet the Demon King, Thyis. They shook hands and smirked at each other at a job well done. The guards along with their very pregnant Queen were horrified. The Queen stepped out to confront her husband as the King spoke to the Demon Lord. The only reaction she got from her beloved was a smile, wave of his arm, and two Demons that came from behind the Demon King who grabbed hold of her arms. The Elven guards nearest the Queen took aim with their swords and killed the Demons that held her captive. The Demon King growled and with his mighty gifts killed the Elven guards where they stood. Kalel only laughed as the Queen ran inside the castle to her bed chamber.
Distraught with the betrayal from her husband and the sadness she felt for her people, she soon began to have labor pains. She crumpled to her knees as her hands went to lay lightly on her stomach. She wanted to scream out, but she bit her tongue, not wanting to alarm the King or his new guests. The stress of the demons' attack had driven her body into giving birth a month early. This was her first child, and she began be panic as she bit a pillow to stop from screaming. Luckily, a chamber maid came into the room in accordance with her chores, and saw the Queen in labor; the maid quickly closed and locked the door to the chamber. Everyone in the castle knew what was going on outside and since her beloved Queen was trying to be silent while in labor the young maid knew she had to help her. Whispering to the Queen, the maid gave instructions on what to do for the baby to come. After five hours of pain and pushing the Queen finally heard her baby girl's first cry. In any other situation the Queen would be elated with the arrive of her bouncing baby girl, but that emotion would have to wait; shortly after the child's first cries, there was a knock at the Queen's door. The King had heard the cry from outside and quickly realized what it meant, he excused himself from the Demon King and came to see his new kin. Elnisreth was not about to let her daughter grow up be to cold hearted like her father, nor did she want to see any harm come to her. After only holding her child for a couple of minutes, she gave the baby to the maid and pointed toward the window. The maid with sorrowful eyes understood and took the baby from it's mother. Walking over to the window to make sure to coast was clear, the maid gave the Queen one last look and jumped. Finally, the King made it into the room and with rage struck the Queen's face. Then ordered his personal guard to take the Queen to the cells beneath the castle.
The maid made it out of the castle with the baby unharmed. She searched for a place to raise the child unnoticed and soon found somewhere suitable, in a small town just three countries away from Nemaria. The maid, whose name was Lerth, had traveled far in order to keep the baby Tirial safe. Lerth would do everything within her power to make sure the Queen would see her baby girl again one day.
Back in the castle of Nemaria. The Queen was eventually let out of the dungeons by Kalel. She had come to realize that she would have play along with her husband's game until the day came to dethrone him. The Demon King was now their permanent guest, along with his Demon minions. Nemaria's people soon fell victim to the Demons even further, as they began taking Elven wives and homes. This was truly a dark day for the once bright, strong Kingdom of Nemaria. However, the Queen had her own plan in motion. The Elven guards that were still alive and loyal to their Queen had started a freedom fighter group, which included a lot of the towns people in their effort to take back the castle and free their land from these Demons. The elven guards have already contacted the Seelie Court's Elders and told them what has happened, but, due to the treaty signed on Elnisreth and Kalel's wedding day, the Seelie court's hands are tied until they have solid proof of the betrayal. Kalel was quite clever in covering his tracks. An investigation into the matter has been demanded, to uncover any evidence that Kalel or the Unseelie court have betrayed the treaty.
Lerth and Tirial are safe for now. The Freedom Fighters have their work cut out for them to find proof of Kalel's orders from the Unseelie's Elders. And, the Demons it seems are here to stay.
Are you going to help the Freedom Fighter? Or, are the Demons going to continue poisoning the land of Nemaira?
